On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Acquario di Genova has undergone a massive renovation in order to continue to arouse surprise and excitement thanks to new visit experiences.
Starting from the 24th March 2016, Acquario di Genova, a real research ship sailing around the world, presents a brand new exhibition gallery thanks to cutting-edge exhibit designs, state-of-the-art digital installations and an extensively renovated light and sound design.
The renovation project has been planned by Filmmaster Events.
The passengers of this ideal voyage are real key players, involved in the heart of the aquarium’s life by the crew. A tight daily schedule of speeches – 48 weekly presentations in 6 different areas – allows the visitors to interact with the staff members that take care of the animals every day, in order to uncover secrets and curiosities about this place, where life blooms over and over again.
The project included an important upgrade for the hi-tech components, realised by ETT: the Deep Sea VR room, one of the first permanent virtual reality installations in Italy, and the multimedia room dedicated to “Fish making”.
In the first room, visitors can explore the deep sea thanks to a VR application and an immersive 360° video. There are eight seats, available for visitors over 5 years of age, with a separate 3-euro ticket for adults and a 2-euro for children (5-12 years) that can be purchased along the visitor pathway, at the entrance of the room.
The “Fish making” multimedia room offers nine video game stations with console and monitors, where visitors can create their ideal fish and put it into a virtual tank.
To mark this occasion, the new, free app supporting different languages (Italian, English and French) has been launched.
A complete renovation of the coffee bar and of the two gift shops along the visitor route has been undertaken; they now offer new products and children’s books edited by Sillabe, the publishing house that manages both shops.
