FAQ

  • The entrance ticket to the Genoa Aquarium, like the tickets for all the other structures included in the AcquarioVillage (The City of Children and Teens, Bigo and Biosphere), combined included, ARE NOT NOMINAL.
For tickets purchased online, the name that appears on them is that of the person who made the purchase, or the gift recipient.
In case of impossibility to carry out the visit, the tickets can therefore be transferred to third parties.
  • The FIXED DATE ticket requires, at the time of purchase, the reservation of the date/time slot chosen to carry out the visit. Date and time slot are binding and must be respected.
The FLEXI ticket is valid for one year from the date of purchase, does not require immediate booking and gives the possibility of making a date/time slot change, avoiding the loss of the ticket in the event of inconveniences.
  • If you have purchased a FIXED DATE ticket, we are sorry but, as per the conditions of sale, this is not possible.
If you have purchased an OPEN FLEXI ticket, you can change the date/time slot of the visit once, within 2 hours of the chosen entry time, at the following link: ?
  • Disabled people with documentation certifying their disability are entitled to a discounted fare ("reduced" ticket).
The companion of the 100% disabled person is entitled to free entry; in case of online purchase, the companion must go to the cash desk to collect the free ticket, upon presentation of the above-mentioned certification.
In the case of disabled people aged between 4 and 12, we recommend purchasing the "child" ticket, which is cheaper than the "reduced" ticket.

Acquario di Genova

Acquario di Genova has always been committed to the protection of nature and scientific dissemination .
In fact, since 1992, the year of its opening, it has offered visitors the opportunity to get closer to the marine and aquatic world to get to know it, appreciate its inestimable value, discover the main factors that threaten it and, through direct involvement in edutainment experiences , stimulate commitment personnel to contribute to its protection .

In addition to dissemination , the Acquario di Genova has conservation and scientific research as the main purposes of its activity and promotes the awareness necessary to face the global challenges linked to the oceans and aquatic ecosystems.
Commitments that the Acquario di Genova, in line with its mission, carries out daily through research projects in a controlled environment and in nature, conservation and awareness-raising.

Animal welfare at the centre

The Acquario di Genova has always been committed to maintaining a high standard of care dedicated to animals and to guaranteeing their well-being.
The construction of each new tank always involves accurate technical-scientific planning, in-depth study of the new species introduced and, where necessary, training and updating of aquarium staff.

Even in the acquisition of animals, the philosophy is to follow a sustainable approach, always favoring, where possible, the acquisition of animals reproduced in aquariums, favoring the internal reproduction of the hosted species or exchanges or
acquisitions of surplus animals between facilities that follow the same policy. However, always and only purchases from certified suppliers.

As part of its commitment to the protection of biodiversity, the Acquario di Genova is included in a European network of Aquariums and Zoos, coordinated by EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria insert link to site), which has as its main objectives the conservation of species at risk of extinction and maintenance of high standards of animal management.

The excellent results obtained by the structure in the sustainable management of its natural heritage are due not only to the high know-how of the technical-scientific staff, but also to a broad and fruitful collaboration with the Italian and international scientific and cultural world, consisting of aquariums, universities , Research Centers, Environmental Associations, and other Bodies.
