Getting here
Acquario di Genova is located right in the old town of Genoa: the Old Port.
By car
Take the “Genova-Ovest ” highway exit and then proceed towards the centre for around 2 km (Via Milano – Via Gramsci). You will find the car park 50 meters before Piazza Caricamento underpass on your right.
By bus
– Bus numbers 1, 12 and 13 all have their terminus in front of the Aquarium.
By train
From Genoa Piazza Principe railway station, the Aquarium can be reached:
– in 10/15 minutes on foot
– by taking bus no. 1 to Piazza Caricamento;
– by underground direction Brignole (closest stop San Giorgio station).
From Genoa Brignole railway station, the Aquarium can be reached:
– by taking bus no.13 to Piazza Caricamento
– by underground direction Brignole (closest stop San Giorgio station).
By plane
The Aquarium is 7 km from Genoa “Cristoforo Colombo” Airport:
– approx. a 15 minute taxi ride away
– approx. 30 minutes by the Volabus coach service to Piazza De Ferrari and then a short walk away along Via San Lorenzo.

What is not permitted to do?
Within the Aquarium it is forbidden to:take photographs using a flash, take video footage using supplementary lighting, eat or drink anywhere along the exhibition route, admit animals, except for guide dogs for blind people.

Is photography allowed?
During your visit you’re welcome to take pictures for your personal use only. Please turn off your flash when taking photographs inside the Aquarium.

Yes but you’re not allowed to use supplementary lights.

Where is the nearest parking lot?

Motorcycle parking is allowed in the parking lot of the Aquarium?
No. Free parking spaces are available, however, for motorcycles in the area in front of the Aquarium. Click here for more information.

Do you have any scheduled shows?
Within the Aquarium shows are not offered, but you can interact with the staff during the feeding of some animals at various locations throughout the visitor pathway.

No, you cannot exit and re-enter without paying admission again.

May I interact with the animals or dive into the tanks of the Aquarium?
No, it’s not allowed to dive in the tanks with the animals. At the touch pool you can pet the skates, following the recommendation in the panels close to the exhibit.

Does the Aquarium ticket include also the entrance to the Tropical Garden “Un Battito d’ali” (Wings flapping)?
No, the Tropical Garden “Un Battito d’ali” is along the visitor pathway, but to visit it you need to purchase the ticket at the entrance of the exhibit. Price is 2€ for adults and 1€ for children. The entrance to the Tropical Garden “Un Battito d’Ali” is included in the “Pianeta Acquario” combined ticket.Pianeta Acquario.

Yes, along the exhibition gallery you find the Tender café, the new coffee bar of the Acquario di Genova.

Are there recommended hours to visit the Aquarium?
The entrance to the Aquarium is organized by time slots, whether you book online and you buy your ticket at the ticket office, to enable an optimal management of flows.
However, during the high season, most visitors tend to concentrate in the middle of the day.
So, to enjoy the best the visit, we recommend in these periods (long weekends, feast days) to choose the earliest times of the morning or those from mid-afternoon onwards.

Acquario di Genova is a structure that is continually evolving. The facilities are excellent and catering to the needs of all our visitors is a top priority. For this reason, a range of services and facilities have been made available along the exhibition routes that we hope will enable visitors to enjoy and make the most of their time with us.

Internal Facilities
Staffed cloakroom where visitors can deposit items of clothing (€2 per item ) and luggage (€2 per piece). Here, child backpack carriers are also available, free of charge, for use during your visit.
Guide book (in English, French, German and Spanish) can be purchased at reception desk and gift shops (price €3.50)
Souvenir photo You can have a souvenir photo at the beginning of your visit.
Gift shop. Two gift shops – one midway and one at the end of the exhibition route – are available for you to buy original items available exclusively at the Aquarium.
Tender cafè.The modern coffee bar that provides the opportunity to taste a local specialty, the famous “focaccia genovese”.

Inside the Aquarium it is forbidden to:
– take photographs using a flash unit;
– take video footage using supplementary lighting;
– eat or drink anywhere along the exhibition route;
– admit animals;
– smoke;
– throw anything into the tanks;
– knock on or hit the glass incorporated in the exhibits;
– feed the animals;
